TCI is the leading global network for practitioners, policy makers, researchers and business leaders working towards improving competitiveness in regions and clusters.
TCI is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, with a global scope, open to members from all countries throughout the private, public and voluntary sector. The member base of TCI which was established by a group of specialists and academics in 1998 currently consists of 2.200 leading practitioners from 100 countries. TCI is financed through annual membership fees.
By sharing knowledge and experience, TCI members gain access to leading insights and expertise and the most recent global developments about competitiveness and innovation. We use multiple arenas in real life and on the net for exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences on methodologies for economic growth.
In addition to providing information and communication support to its members, TCI Network organizes global and regional conferences on clustering with the participation of specialists from all around the world every year. The first TCI global conference has taken place in the year 1998 and has now become the most effective and well-known event in clustering. The 13th TCI global conference has been organized on November 29th – December 3rd, 2010 in New Delhi, India. İzmir Development Agency has been represented at the conference, has made a presentation on the İzmir Clustering Strategy work that it has conducted and on the other clusters in İzmir.
The 14th global conference of TCI Network is going to take place in November 2011 in Auckland, New Zealand (www.tci2011.com). Also, a regional TCI conference will be organized in Talinn, Estonia in March 2011 (www.clusterconference.eu). İzmir Development Agency is going to participate in both events and promote the clustering activities in İzmir.
İzmir Development Agency has become a member of TCI Network in January 2011. This membership will not only help İzmir enhance its knowledge and expertise in the fields of clustering, innovation and competitiveness, but also contribute to the development and clustering activities and clusters in İzmir by providing cooperation and communication on an international level. It is planned to realize various events and projects in cooperation with TCI Network and its members.
