The Art Group, Wolff Olins, Kita Advertising Design and Consulting, American Word Services and TNS consortium which won İZKA’s tender for the “Strategic Plan of the City Branding of İzmir” continues researches in İzmir and all around the world, in order to make an accurate analysis of İzmir.
In the Opening Meeting of the “Strategic Plan of the City Branding of İzmir” held in early April, the consortium led by Art Grup had mentioned that an analysis of İzmir was going to be made based on how opinion leaders, domestic and foreign tourists, foreign investors and people living in other countries see the city, for promoting İzmir more effectively in Turkey and in the world.
Consortium members, who started their work right after the Opening Meeting, are doing simultaneous activities such as street interviews in İzmir and all around the world and interviews with opinion leaders in İzmir. So far, the ideas of 2700 people have been taken.
The consortium has also launched a website for reaching more stakeholders. This website aims to take information from foreigners who have and who have not been to İzmir. The website offers two prizes of a four day trip to İzmir, with accommodation at Hilton Hotel for two.
Consortium members who gather with İZKA often are going to use researches and analyses on İzmir such as the Regional Plan and Situational Analysis prepared by İZKA and its stakeholders, as input.

Co-President of Art Grup, Fehmi Özkan said, “We have started this project, which is a first in Turkey, with great excitement. As our work is deepened, our enthusiasm does not diminish but increases. We are receiving very substantial ideas from very valuable opinion leaders in İzmir. İzmir, with its historical and cultural assets and potential in almost every area of tourism, is a city that is ready to boom. Joining forces with İzmirians, we will make İzmir a city brand. Our aim is not to communicate İzmir to İzmirians, but to communicate İzmir to the target group as it needs to be done.” Adding that they will continue the researches and meetings, Özkan said, “By the end of May, we are planning to complete the research phase and move on to developing the strategy. We are going to share all these steps with İzmirians.”
